LIFE GETS BETTER. DON'T EVER QUIT TRYING!

Hello! My name is Cory, and I am recovering from substance abuse disorder, and mental health conditions. I am 36 years old, and work for the Forest Service in the Giant Sequoias of California. I absolutely love my life, my family, friends, fun, mountains, the high desert, the ocean, and everything in-between.

  • I am reaching out for assistance because I have exhausted every other option, and I need help. Did you know that as a Federal Government Employee I am not eligible for income protection or Short Term Disability Insurance from the state of California, or the Federal government due to the budget and CR? I know. It's not good.

  • I was out of work for 6 weeks while getting treatment and am now staring at a stack of bills 1ft tall!
  • I am grateful that I got to keep my job. Thankfully the people that love me gave me a nudge to get professional help, and I surrendered and said OK! To be the man that I know I can be I need to make sacrifices. So I checked myself into a 30 day inpatient facility and then into intensive outpatient. And I cannot thank MyTime Recovery enough. They reminded me who I am. Gratitude is the key !

I am grateful for every day that I am sober. I am grateful for restful sleep, and easy mornings without a hangover.

I am grateful that I get to work outside and helping to protect our Sequoia groves for future generations.

I am grateful for quality time with my mother and sister. I even met a woman that is a blessing in every way and I plan to spend my life with her.

I spend all of my extra time receiving therapy, and trying to get back into the rythem and routine and it is the hardest thing I have ever done. I want back the beautiful life that I almost threw away.

Recovery is possible, and I will thrive (instead of just survive). I will be FREE!

Your love and support goes a long way, and I thank you from the bottom of my heart.

  • I am asking for money to help me get back on my feet. I just need one less thing to worry about right now. It really does take a village. It takes a community of people trying to change and better their lives to heal.

God bless and happy Autumnal equinox!
