Life Costs for Richard Yale & Family

I'm organizing this fundraiser on behalf of my best friend, Imogene Cancellare, her husband, Mark Cancellare, her mom, Johanna Yale, and the rest of their loving family.
On Thursday, July 16, 2020, Imogene's beloved father, Richard Yale, unexpectedly died of a pulmonary embolism.
Richard worked in business risk management, is a published author, loved his dogs, hats, and wine, and has been battling Stage 4 colon cancer for the past two years. He'd just had his 46th round of chemo, which he was handling beautifully (still working every day, still had all his hair!). Despite being in good health and seeing significant and continued reduction in tumor size, he had a pulmonary embolism at home. Doctors could not revive him.
Over the last few days, Imogene and Mark drove the 24+ hour journey to Texas to help her mom with facing the unfathomable. As you can imagine, funeral arrangements, doctors appointments, etc. are infinitely more difficult right now due to COVID-19. Imogene and her family are doing their best to manage, but I would love to help ease their pain and burden.
The following message is from Imogene: "Despite my parents’ best efforts to plan for the inevitable, my mom has been the primary caregiver for my uncle Tim, who suffered a brain injury at the end of 2016, which involves significant cost outside of insurance. Combined with the financial burden associated with accounts freezing due to his sudden death (my mom does not work, and hasn’t since she was diagnosed with ovarian cancer), this GoFundMe would be allocated for the following:
- Immediate cost of living, which would include basic living costs, cost associated with waiting for the transfer of their home and entire financial life into my mom's name only, as all funds are frozen for the time being.
- Outstanding cancer medical bills at MD Anderson
- Ongoing medical costs for my uncle, as my parents have largely been responsible for his care and PT" (if you follow Imogene you know about Uncle Tim and his ongoing treatments)
For those of you who know Imogene, you'll know her as a bright light of laughter, humor, and total and unequivocal brilliance. Her science communication, passion for advocacy, and beautiful soul make her one of the most incredible souls I've ever met. She was extremely close with her father, who loved her mother fiercely. My hope is that our combined efforts can ease her burden as she faces this nightmare alongside her friends and family, together.
