Life Coach Training for Marilu

Hello everyone, my name is Marilu. First and foremost, I would like to thank you for taking the time to listen to my story.

About two years ago, I got my bachelor’s degree in Engineering. That was a huge achievement for me…I am the first member of my family to receive a 4-year degree. And as you can see by my chair, I have some physical challenges. After graduating, I went on to become a certified ADA coordinator. That means I am qualified to assess ADA compliance in buildings, organizations, websites, and accommodations. My goal is to serve the disability community and help people create support systems and plans to overcome their obstacles.

About a year ago, my disability showed signs of progression, which has made it challenging to find a career in my field of training. During this time, I found a personal coach who helped me navigate my changing world. Coaching has helped me learn techniques and strategies for accepting the things I cannot change and the courage to create meaningful change where I can.

Prior to receiving my bachelor's degree, though, I was working in a high school. Many of my students suggested I become a school counselor, and many of my friends and family come to me for guidance and help. I find deep satisfaction in helping others and I decided to become a certified life coach.

I am interested in being a coach because I strongly believe in empowering others. I believe that regardless of the type of barrier in someone’s path, everyone can relate to what it’s like to struggle. I want to help support others through their struggles and to find clarity that will help them to achieve their goals. As a coach, I feel that I can help others to experience personal and career satisfaction, all while prioritizing my health.

I am raising money to finish the qualification for becoming a certified life coach through the Academy for Coaching Excellence. Funds I raise will go directly to my tuition and accreditation fees.

This accredited training program is a necessary component of my vision to become a motivational coach who can help people. I will use these coaching tools to support people in my community so they can live life to the fullest with no limitations.
