Help Georgia Access Life-Changing Treatment for FND!

Hello, my name is Georgia,

Earlier this year, I had a serious fall down the stairs at work that left me with bulging discs impinging on my nerves. The trauma from the fall also triggered a condition called Functional Neurological Disorder (FND) a complex and life changing disability that affects the way my brain and body communicate.

In March, I was admitted to hospital, where I spent three months receiving treatment and undergoing tests before being officially diagnosed with FND. Since then, my life has completely changed. I have been bedbound since, unable to walk or move properly. I experience multiple seizures every day, sometimes 40–50 or more in a day — which can leave me completely exhausted and without movement in my arms or legs for days at a time.

Before this, I was an active, independent young woman. I loved living life to the fullest. Now, my mum is my full-time carer, FND is unpredictable and I can have seizures at any moment.

Unfortunately, because FND is still not widely understood, specialist treatment options are limited and not always available through the NHS. However, there are private treatment programmes that have shown promising results, giving people with FND a chance at recovery and independence again. These treatments could be life changing, but they come at a high cost.

I have done everything in my power to get better, but I need your help to access the care that could truly change my life.
