Lorena is a brave and strong woman. A fighter! A single mom who has battled with Undifferentiated Pleomorphic Sarcoma (UPS) not once, not twice, but THREE times. She has been fighting thanks to the support of her two daughters and her family. Her last rounds of Chemo were in October 2019 and in March 2020 a PET Scan confirmed she was negative for any cancerous cells. She was enjoying her life with her family and daughters. Her hair was growing back after having lost it all. She was finally cancer free! Fast forward five months- August 18th 2020 Lorena fainted, and after various exams at the ER, she was diagnosed with a cancerous tumor in her heart. She had to make a decision that risked her life. Lorena put her faith and her life in God’s hands. All of her family was praying for her. On August 26th, She had open heart surgery and the outcome was even better than expected. The entire tumor was removed and she is now recovering at home. It was truly a Miracle! Lorena must change a lot of things to continue to be able to live a comfortable life. She must continue Chemotherapy for the upcoming months and as many of you know, it has many harsh side effects. One thing that she doesn’t want is for her daughters to see her lose her hair again. Her youngest daughter is only 9 years old, she had a hard time seeing her mommy go through all those changes and lose her hair last year. Through a friend, who did it herself for her Chemo treatment, we found out about a Cold cap treatment which has a very high success rate and it can save her hair! The treatment is not covered by her insurance and we are asking for your help to cover some of the costs. Upon learning about it she was very excited and it gave her additional hope to kick cancer in the butt!
