Life changing surgery for my brother Jesse

Donation protected
On July 3rd, 2021 Jesse woke up and both of his legs were numb, and his hands. He was in pain, and had no idea what the cause was. He went to the emergency room, after many test they were unable to find the source of the pain. They referred him to a neurologist. 4 months of pain not being able to walk, numb limbs , 3 MRIs, multiple trips to the ER and a collection of test later he finally received a diagnosis on November 11th, 2021. Jesse’s spine is broken. Jesse was in tears when the doctor told him without surgery he wouldn’t be walking in 12 months.

His spine is fractured on both sides above his L5 S1 disc and is separating. He is scheduled for an initial posterior lumbar fusion surgery, as well as carpel tunnel surgery on his left hand in February. A few months later another surgery to repair nerve damage, and carpel tunnel surgery on his right hand. He has a long recovery road is ahead of him.

Reality has set in. When my brother called me with the long awaited diagnosis, I was In shock, although relived he had finally found the source of the pain. My questions began… what will you do financially? How will you keep your home? I couldn’t imagine being in a situation as a single father of three kids with one income.

My brother Jesse is one of the hardest working men I know. He is the kind of man that stops and pulls you out of a ditch in the snow, or stops when your car has broken down, gives you a place to live when you have no where else to turn. For the last ten years I have watched him be a loving single father to his 3 kids, while also running a small business in construction and renovation.

Jesse hasn’t been able to work since July, and has used all of his savings. He has started selling his belongings, and doing whatever he can to keep a roof over his family’s head. He isn’t someone to ask for help, he is always helping  others. So I decided to start this campaign, the funds raised will go towards his medical bills, and the support of him and my niece and nephews while he is unable to work for the next 8-9 months.

Any support you can give will be greatly appreciated. Whether it’s $10 or a share, anything helps!
