Life Celebration of Tong Pao Lor

It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of our father, Tong Pao Lor. He was surrounded by family when he passed away peacefully on Friday January 7th, 2022 in Eau Claire, WI. He was 74 years old and would have turned 75 this March. He is survived by his 8 children and 18 grandchildren.

 

Our father grew up with hardship in Laos. He lost his own father at a young age. In adulthood, during the ‘Secret War’ in which the Hmong were recruited by the US Military to aid in the Vietnam War, he barely got his growing family to safety. Thanks to his siblings and sponsors in the US, he was eventually able to bring his family to America. Through all the struggles of coming to a new country, our father persevered and was able to provide a wonderful life for his family. When he finally retired, he continued to work hard by tending to the farm he shared with our mother.

 

Our father was a patient and quiet man who mostly observed and listened intently. He was also effortlessly funny. He loved his children dearly and even more, his grandchildren. Our father was not perfect, as no human is but we can say that he truly did his best. We will miss his presence forever, we love you dad.

Our family would like to invite you to join us in the life celebration of our beloved father, Tong Pao Lor. Due to the pandemic we will hold the celebration for only one day. It will be held at Columbus Hall in Chippewa Falls, WI on Sunday February 13th, 2022. We understand that the current circumstances may make it difficult to attend in person.
