My mother, Lidia, was diagnosed with uterine cancer in 2017. She had a successful battle with it and had been cancer clear since then. This year however, it's reared its ugly head again, and unfortunately it's metastasized aggressively around her lungs.

My mom's been a language teacher for 30+ years at Sacred Heart High School in Los Angeles. Throughout those years she has actively mentored three decades of young girls who’ve entered the doors of Sacred Heart and helped guide them into womanhood. Now, I’m asking for help so that my mom can see one more young life reach adulthood; my six year old son. You see, although my mother has taken pride and great joy in the work she does at Sacred Heart, it pales in comparison to the joy and fulfilment she gets in her new role as a Grandmother.


Unfortunately, after talks with her current health provider, she and our family believe it will be best if she seeks care with another organization to improve her chances of beating what’s growing inside of her. Our hope is for her to acquire treatment at City of Hope, however the costs of treatments there will be difficult for her to afford without some help. Currently, my mother is out on disability, and my Stepdad has quit his job to take care of her full time.

I understand that right now is a difficult time for most, but I hope that you can help with whatever amount won’t burden you or your family.
