It's time for you to be able to choose your Naturopathic Doctor as your primary care provider. Natural medicine doesn't mean "no medicine," or being against the system. It's a personal choice to be an active participant in your own healthcare.
Maybe you're the kind of person that wants help figuring out the cause of your health issues. Maybe you're the kind of person who will take the steps necessary to remove the obstacles to feeling better, even if it means changing your diet or exercise habits. Maybe you're the kind of person who will use conventional medicine if needed, but someone who chooses the least-harm option first.

Help us pass a bill to license NDs as primary care providers, so you can work with your ND.
The Wisconsin Naturopathic Doctors Association has introduced a bill to license Naturopathic Doctors in the state of Wisconsin as primary care providers. With this license, Naturopathic Doctors can better serve Wisconsin families by integrating into the established medical system.
Currently, Wisconsinites choosing naturopathic medicine have to venture outside the system. They have difficulty accessing laboratory and referral services. Sometimes, they even have to visit Urgent Care - directly from a visit with their ND - in order to access the healthcare services recommended by their medically-trained ND. That means 2 trips for the same complaint, more out-of-pocket cost, and a higher risk of exposure to infectious diseases - simply because they desire natural medicine and live in Wisconsin. That's not right.
Without licensure, new graduate NDs who are originally from Wisconsin avoid coming home to practice. Because they aren't integrated into the current medical system, they must run their own businesses in order to provide care in their home towns, in addition to providing medical services. This is a problem for small towns. Often people seeking natural medicine options have to travel far distances to see an ND. That's not right.
So, the WNDA has dedicated our entire organizational effort to give you the natural medicine choice.
The WNDA is a non-profit organization of community-minded holistic doctors who believe that healthy communities start with healthy families. We are dedicated to bringing natural medicine to Wisconsin families by offering individualized natural therapies which integrate the healing powers of body, mind, and spirit. NDs are trained in the diagnosis and treatment of disease, and they're trained to refer you to the appropriate specialist if needed.
Our vision is to transform the healthcare system from disease management to health promotion by incorporating the principles of naturopathic medicine.
