Major Library Reconstruction!

Tax deductible
The Perkiomen Valley Library at Schwenksville, founded and built as a public Library in 1954, serves over 37,000 residents in Schwenksville and surrounding communities.

In the past year, it has come to light that the library suffers from severe water damage to the exterior walls. Major reconstruction is needed to prevent further deterioration and ensure the building's longevity. The restoration work will include removing bricks to provide the remediation needed and then restoring the walls with reinforcing concrete. The situation is serious, and given the scope of the problem, it will be expensive. Library officials estimate that the cost of the repairs will exceed $400,000.

The library plans to finance some of the project, but it will also need the help of the community. The good news is that a long-time library patron has committed to match every donation, dollar for dollar, up to $25,000! The library is such an important part of our community being home to Red Cross Blood Drives, The American Legion, free computers to those without internet access, yoga for the adults, a place for children to learn, and so much more.

This library is such a vibrant and joyful place that provides great value to its residents.  We have already raised almost $7,000 towards this project but we as a library invite you to join in this effort.

The library at Perkiomen Valley thanks you in advance for your generous contribution.
