We are all familiar with the benefits of reading. But how many books do you think a child should own? Research shows that owning as little as 20 books can be a game changer for a child. With a mission to inspire a generation of confident learners who will reach beyond expectations, Fiery Minds invites you to support our first fundraiser. The sole purpose of this fundraiser is to build personal libraries for 3rd-grade readers.

As of 2022, only 32% of Georgia’s 4th graders were deemed to be proficient readers. Reading on grade level by the end of 3rd grade is critical and not achieving this milestone has far-reaching negative consequences that affect the child and the community. If we allow the current trend to continue, we will inevitably have more students drop out before graduating high school.

Fiery Minds decided to embark on this mission based on research demonstrating the overwhelming impact of book ownership. Studies show children who own books are six times more likely to read above grade level, enjoy reading, and attain a higher level of education compared to those who don’t. The benefits of owning books hold true despite parental income, education, occupation, and class.

Our goal is to gift a minimum of 200 books. You can help by sponsoring a child today!
