Hello everybody this is an update. Unfortunately my grandmother has passed away, and we are in need now, we thought we had more weeks with her but unfortunately we don’t. Please share this to everybody and we really appreciate any bit of helpHi my name is Aliah De La Rosa and I am fundraising for my grandmother Librada Madera. My grandmother, now 78, has been fighting a long and painful battle with breast cancer, a fight that has drained much of her strength but never her spirit. For months, she has been undergoing chemotherapy in New York, far from the home she loves in the Dominican Republic. It was during one of her treatment sessions that she received devastating news her beloved house back home, the one filled with decades of memories, laughter, and family gatherings, had burned down in a tragic fire caused by natural circumstances beyond anyone’s control. The loss of her home has been heartbreaking, not only because of the physical structure, but because it was the last place she truly felt like herself. Now, as her condition worsens and the days grow shorter, her only wish is to return to the Dominican Republic one final time to breathe in the familiar air, to see the land where she raised her children, and to feel at peace. More than anything, she wants to be laid to rest there, beside her mother and father in the family cemetery, so that even in death, she can be close to the roots that shaped her life. It’s a simple yet profound wish one born of love, memory, and the deep connection she holds to her homeland. As for the funeral there is no set date due to the fact my grandmother is still gladly alive but only has couple weeks left as said by the doctor.
The funds collected will be used for the future funeral and all expenses.
