My name is William, and I am Lebanese-American. On July 15th, I am running the hourglass challenge, starting at a 13:00 min/mile pace, getting one minute faster every mile until I hit 6:00, then working all the way back up. Every mile I run is dedicated to the people of Lebanon.
This is not just a running challenge. As I've grown, my Lebanese heritage has become more and more important to me.
What is happening in Lebanon right now is devastating. More than 3,500 people have been killed, nearly 1 million displaced, and hospitals are overwhelmed. Families who fled with nothing are living in shelters without food, water, or medicine. The world cannot look away.
Every dollar raised goes directly to Amel Association International, a Lebanese, non-sectarian organization serving Lebanon's most vulnerable communities since 1979. Through 30 centers and 6 mobile medical units, Amel's 1,200 workers and volunteers provide healthcare, emergency relief, psychosocial support, and protection services across Beirut, South Lebanon, and the Bekaa Valley. They show up for everyone, regardless of religion or background. That is why I chose them.
Our goal is $2,000. Here is what that means in real impact:
- $5 covers wound care supplies
- $25 provides an emergency package for a family
- $50 funds a mobile medical unit visit to a displaced community
- $100 supports a full day of healthcare at an Amel field center
No donation is too small. Every dollar reaches those in need.
I am running because being Lebanese means you carry your country with you everywhere you go, and right now, Lebanon needs your support.
Please donate. Please share. Help me make every mile count.
شكراً Thank you.
