Telepsychiatry Support for Liberia
Donation protected
The Mount Sinai Program in Mental Health is entering its third year providing long distance telesupervision, support, and mentorship to the Mental Health Clinicians of Liberia, nurses and physical assistants who are the de facto psychiatrists of that country. We have helped them do work with much fewer resources than we are lucky to have here in the U.S. and in the face of far greater stigma and misunderstanding about mental health and illness. And, our resident psychiatrists who serve as the MHC's supervisors learn from them, too.
This project supplements our yearly visits to Liberia with an ongoing connection with a group of the MHC's via teleconferencing. The primary costs are incurred for the technology-- computers and internet access. Our supervisors' time is donated.
Please help us keep it going for another year with your donation!
