LIBERIA CHIMP RESCUE PROTECTION
Hi Everyone!
I am running a half marathon on the 19th April 2020 to help raise money for Liberia Chimp Rescue Protection.
Since 2010, Jenny and Jimmy, along with their dog Princess, have been in Africa working with wildlife conservation organizations that include The Jane Goodall Institute, EcoHealth Alliance, Smithsonian Institute, Uganda Wildlife Education Centre, and
Dian Fossey Gorilla Fund International. A team of three, Jenny, Jimmy, and Princess have lived in nine countries together, always with the mission of helping wildlife and furthering conservation initiatives.
They are currently working in West Africa saving chimpanzees from being sold and used for Bush meat. It costs around £8000 a month to look after the chimpanzees they have currently. It could cost up to 1.5 million dollars to build a sanctuary and give them a safe place to live where they will be protected. There are only around 150,000- 300,00 left in the world and this is decreasing rapidly.

As seen on BBC Two Chimpanzees are separated from their Mothers to be sold and abused. They are often beat, given alcohol and chained up for most of their life and are left petrified. I have seen videos recently where they have been chained up and set on fire.
Jenny and Jimmy work so hard to protect the chimpanzees and are desperate to move into their new space. They currently act as parents to the chimpanzees and are training them on how to survive in the Jungle. Don’t underestimate how hard it is to look after over 40 baby chimpanzees. They are just the same as baby’s and need a lot of care. They didn’t expect to take on as many as they have and they have given up everything to make this work.
If everyone can make time to watch their story on BBC TWO you will get a better understanding of how hard this has been. Chimpanzees have around 96% human DNA they are the closest thing on the planet to us. They don’t deserve to suffer anymore and our donations can help keep them safe!
If you got this far thank you so much for reading! What I am trying to raise is such a small amount for what they need to really make a difference but I will be so happy if I can hit this target.
Thank You!
