Help out Liberation Barbell Club
Hey y’all.
It has been a week here in Texas. Like so many, LBC has suffered serious damage as a result of Winter Storm Uri. Despite our attempts to follow guidelines to keep the space safe, a water pipe burst in an interior wall, causing massive damage. We currently cannot reopen due to water damage and are unsure when we will be able to. The goal of this fundraising effort is to help us pay our employees and cover operating costs while we figure out how to re-open.
Knowing that so many have suffered during this storm, we were hesitant to make this ask. However, when we posted the gym was going to be closed indefinitely, our community showed up in our inbox asking how they could help. Since we opened in January 2020, we knew we weren't just filling a building with steel and iron for strangers to get strong. We wanted to build a village, we wanted to create a community where all were not just welcomed, but known and seen, and could call our space their home.
Being able to continue to pay our employees and cover operating costs is the first step to being able to re-open. We care deeply about this community and want LBC to remain a beacon of inclusivity in the Austin strength world. We know so many have been impacted by this storm, so any amount helps. If you are unable to support financially, sharing this page and helping us spread the word is equally impactful.
Thank you LBC fam. We hope to be back soon, stronger than ever.
- LBC Team

Some info so you know you're donation will be going to the right folks and how it will be used:
- Max Kirchoff created this campaign. Max helped open LBC and has been actively involved. Max is a real person, and you can see him listed at http://liberationbarbellclub.com, please contact him via this page if you would like to verify his identity and relationship to LBC in anyway.
- Funds will be transferred to Laurie Porsch, owner of Liberation Barbell Club. The funds will then be used to cover operating costs, employee pay, and generally getting the gym open again.
- LBC will provide updates on how the funds are used.
- If you have any questions at all, please reach out to us via this page, our instagram, or [email redacted]
