Update 7: I completed my challenge on 30th March! I walked 4.85km, which is more than I needed). That takes my final total to 103.7km. Thank-you so much to everyone that has supported me.
Update 6: nearly there… over the last 3 weeks, I have taken Willow on 3 walks, I have done 2 weekend of 5km Park Run’s , an hike with the Beaver’s group that I am volunteering with and a family walk. These have added a further 27.87km to my total! This brings my total distance to 98.85km. I’m hoping the weather will hold tomorrow so that I can complete my challenge.
Update 5: a very busy weekend for me. Very misty and muddy outdoors, but I still managed to get 20km in on Saturday and another 15km on Sunday. I am definitely feeling a bit tired today but I had a great weekend! My updated total is 70.98km!
Update 4: the last 2 weeks have not been amazing! Unfortunately I caught a nasty cold just in time for the half-term holidays and did very little as a result. I only managed a 2.2km walk. Towards the end of last week, I started to feel a bit more like myself but still only managed to complete a 5km walk. This brings my total to 35.98km. I am way behind schedule but hopefully I can get in a good distance this coming weekend! Please do support me if you are able to- Thanks!
Update 3: Last week, I did a 3.12 walk with my mom and Willow and I ran 5km on Saturday. This brings my total to 28.78km. Thanks to everyone who has supported me so far , either by donating or by sending me words of encouragement! ❤️
Update1: many thanks to those who have already donated. This morning, my dad and I ran 6.33km to start off my 100km challenge. I have attached a photo from my strava. Please support me if you can. Thank-you.
Hello! My name is Libby and I have been selected to represent Essex at the 2027 World Scout Jamboree in Poland, where I will be joined by more than 40,000 scouts from all around the world!
I joined the Scouting Association when I was just 6 years old, and have gone through Beavers, Cubs, Scouts and I am now an Explorer Scout. During this time, I have had many amazing opportunities that have helped to shape me, into the adventurous young lady that I am today. Scouting has been a very big part of my life and I am so grateful for all the experiences I have already had as well as for those still to come.
As part of the WSJ experience, we have been encouraged to fundraise 30% of the nearly £4000 cost. With the help of family and friends, we have already begun planning a number of fun and exciting fundraising events to help reach this target!
My very first fundraising activity is going to be a sponsored walk/run. I pledge to run/walk at least 100km between 1/2/26-31/3/26. If you are in a position to support me, please consider sponsoring me/ making a donation to help me on my way. In return, I look forward to sharing my progress with you in the upcoming months.
I am so excited to take part in this adventure and I know that I will have a great time! Poland 2027 is going to be a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, which will certainly change my life and hopefully give me countless happy memories that will last a lifetime!
Thank-you in advance for your generous support.
Libby
