Libby’s voice

Donation protected
We as a family are starting a ‘go fund me’ to raise money for our daughter, Libby. We have been fighting  back and forth with insurance for 3 years to purchase a speech device. The device is a $15,000.00 device. We have $5,000.00 for it but need $10,000.00 more to be able to purchase it. Our goal is to have it for 1st grade which starts in August.  This would be Libby’s voice and way to communicate with her family, teachers and peers.  She has done trails on this device and was successful! Any donations would greatly be appreciated.

name of the device -
Prentke Romich company (PRC). Accent 1000 with carrying case, key guard, eye gaze and PCS symbols.

A little about Libby-
Libby is 6 years old going into the first grade. Keith and Tara Zurface are Libby’s daddy and mommy, along with her siblings Chelsey, Waylen (angel  in heaven)  & Wyatt Zurface.
She is a sweet, loving, happy little girl. Her smile is contagious.
At 4 months old we notice that Libby was quickly  falling off of the chart for her gross motor skills.  She was diagnosed with hypotonia (low muscle tone) and a global delay. We then began working with Help Me Grow and at 1 years old she started physical, occupational and speech therapy at ABC pediatric therapy.  She continues to go to therapy along with school.
When Libby was 1 years old her neurologist at Cincinnati children’s told us she would never be able to walk, talk, sit up, or feed herself. Since then we have done several different genetic testing and have not found a diagnosis (what was causing hypotonia). She now feeds herself with assistance, learning to walk in a gate trainer, sits up on her own, scoots around to get from place to place and continues to progress. Her speech on the other hand has not progressed lately. Fast forward to the beginning of this year 2019 she was finally diagnosed with hypertonic cerebral palsy (As the most common form of cerebral palsy(CP), hypertonic CP accounts for 80% of all cases in the United States. Hypertonic CP is considered spastic, marked by extremely stiff muscles. On the other hand, hypotonic CP, marked by extremely loose and floppy muscle tone, accounts for less than half of all CP cases.).

Something I love to share is Libby was born on the 4th day of the 2013th year to an unsaved family.  We started attending church shortly after Libby’s 1st diagnoses. After being saved the lord impressed me (Tara) to write on her orthotics Philippians 4:13 < “I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.” .  Which I found ironic that it matched up with her birth date. Also the meaning of Libby’s name is ‘The lords promise’.  ****He's in all of this. *****
As a family we go to church every Sunday and have full faith in our Lord. Libby is going to always have a testimony to tell. With every step we take and every ‘inch’ stone we make the glory will always be the lords. Without his help we wouldn’t be where we are today.

With much love and god bless, The Zurface’s
