In September of 2012, our dear friend Libby Ottiger was diagnosed with breast cancer. She underwent surgery, chemo and radiation and came out on the other side twice the woman she was before.
In January she found out her cancer has returned; this time spreading deeper into her muscle tissue. She has just started a round of chemo to shrink the tumor in preparation for a double mastectomy and reconstructive surgery, followed by more chemo and radiation.
As if this wasn't enough, during her diagnostics she found out she had a 2cm (that's right...CENTIMETER) kidney stone in her ureter that was partially obstructing urine flow to her bladder and had lithotripsy and a stent placed!
So many people who love Libby have approached us asking what they can do to help and this seemed like a fanstastic option. She is currently out on short-term disability and on a fixed income and still facing bills from her first round of treatment. While we cannot ease the burden of her physical pain or her emotional burden, we CAN help relieve the financial stress associated with her battle. Please, if you are able and interested, join us in helping Libby in any way that you can. She is the most amazing, positive, cheerful, wonderful person that we know and we would walk the ends of the earth to help her.
