Liebe Menschen,

mein Name ist Sebastian Bou Hamad. Als Familienvater mit deutsch-libanesischen Wurzeln sehe ich mich in der Verantwortung, die Menschen in Deutschland auf das Leid der libanesischen Bevölkerung im aktuellen Krieg aufmerksam zu machen und eine menschliche Brücke zu bauen.

Über 1,2 Mio. Libanesen (ca. 1/5 der Gesamtbevölkerung) wurden durch den Krieg vertrieben und sind auf der Flucht. Sie konnten dabei nur die wichtigsten Dinge mitnehmen. Viele sind auf der Straße gelandet – ohne Kleidung, Nahrung und ein Dach über dem Kopf. Die extrem hohen Mieten und teuren Hotels sind nicht bezahlbar. Die zusätzlich instabile Wirtschaftslage lässt die humanitäre Situation schnell eskalieren.

Ich habe bereits mehrfach freiwillig als humanitärer Helfer gearbeitet und setze mich für Menschen in Not ein. Meine Erfahrung mit NGOs, dem libanesischen Roten Kreuz und meinem Netzwerk ermöglicht es mir, die notwendige Unterstützung zu den Menschen in Not zu bringen.

Ich sammle Spenden für die AMEL Association International und kleinere Initiativen, die ich während meiner Aufenthalte vor Ort kennengelernt habe. Selbstverständlich gehe ich auch persönlich an die Hotspots, verteile die Spenden direkt an die Menschen und besorge ihnen Medikamente oder andere notwendige Dinge. Mein Ziel ist es, einmal im Monat in den Libanon zu fliegen, um die Übergabe der Spenden zu koordinieren und sicherzustellen, dass die Geldspenden im gemeinnützigen Kontext eingesetzt werden. Des Weiteren nehme ich bei jeder Reise in den Libanon vier große Koffer mit Sachspenden wie Kinderkleidung mit.

Für weitere Fragen stehe ich gerne zur Verfügung. Referenzen zu meiner Arbeit im humanitären Bereich kann ich vorlegen.

Zurzeit bin ich Vertriebsleiter im Automotive-Bereich für ein Tier-1-Unternehmen und organisiere all das nebenbei. Mir ist es wichtig, nicht wegzusehen, wenn Menschen in meiner Heimat dringend Hilfe benötigen. Ich bin dankbar, wenn ihr es auch nicht tut. Dear friends,

My name is Sebastian Bou Hamad. As a father with German-Lebanese roots, I feel a responsibility to raise awareness among the people of Germany about the suffering of the Lebanese people in the current war and to build a human bridge.

Over 1.2 million Lebanese (approximately one-fifth of the total population) have been displaced by the war and are on the run. They were only able to take the bare necessities with them. Many have ended up on the streets – without clothing, food, or a roof over their heads. The extremely high rents and expensive hotels are unaffordable. The already unstable economic situation is causing the humanitarian crisis to escalate rapidly.

I have volunteered as a humanitarian aid worker on several occasions and am committed to helping people in need. My experience with NGOs, the Lebanese Red Cross, and my network enables me to deliver the necessary support to those in need.

I am collecting donations for the AMEL Association International and smaller initiatives that I have encountered during my time working in Lebanon. Of course, I also personally visit the hotspots, distribute donations directly to people, and provide them with medication or other essential supplies. My goal is to fly to Lebanon once a month to coordinate the distribution of donations and ensure that monetary donations are used for charitable purposes. Furthermore, on every trip to Lebanon, I take four large suitcases filled with in-kind donations such as children's clothing.
