Aloha
I need help please. Our Daughter Liane Ahina Meads is going through her headaches again. This past Saturday (3/27/21), she had a mini stroke. In April 2020 she had an operation to remove two brain tumors. It was so large it cracked her skull, so they put in titanium plates. Then it was discovered that she has terminal cancer called Anaplastic Meningioma Stage 3.
She cant work because of her health. She is able to get Social Security Disability which we are grateful for. It helps pay for her rent and utility bills. She can't get her retirement funds because she is not RETIRED. She has tried to get her retirement under "special circumstances" but she was denied. I am asking for help because she will need continuous home health care and she only has SSD.
Anything would help and we are so grateful to all who can support us on this. Whether it be monetary, food or even a prayer, we thank you very much.
Mahalo,
Stephanie & Ron Ahina
This is my sister, Liane. After many visits to the walk-in clinics and the ER the doctors discovered a tumor the size of a racquetball in the left side of her brain. It has been causing her terrible pain for the past year. Liane is a single mother of two who has dedicated the past 13 years to her community, be it in Seattle or Hawaii. She works to help impact the lives of youth and teens through her career with the YMCA.
Liane moved back to the Seattle area in February and a month later lost her job due to Covid-19. I know that there are many of us who are in a tight spot right now for the same reason. But if you are able to give in any way it would be greatly appreciated. We will be using any funds raised for Medical bills as well as after care. It is still unsure what that after care will look like as there are so many different factors that can impact the end result with brain surgery.
On behalf of our family, thank you for taking your time to read this, sharing it with others, and giving.
Aloha,
Melissa Ahina
