Lian Mapile Vasquez

I remember my dear friend Lian telling me about her neck and back pain from a car accident about 1 1/2 years ago.  She was seeing a chiropractor and massage therapists for months and the pain just won't go away.  They decided to do an xray and it revealed pleural effusion.  She was then referred to a specialist.  She was feeling good, normal and healthy except for that chronic neck and back pain.

The specialist then diagnosed her to have something anybody doens't want to hear.  On March 16th, 2016, she was diagnosed with Stage 4 non-small cell adenocarcinoma.  

Most of you probably know, we've been best friends since 2nd year high school back in the Philippines.  I moved to the US and she moved to Canada but we remained best friends.

Most of you probably know her as a mother of 2 lovely girls.  Autumn, who is 7 and speaks fluent French. And Carlee who is now 4 and had fought over multiple heart surgeries and hospitalizations from conditions like Tetralogy of Fallot, Diamond Black-fan Anemia and cleft palate.  Carlee is not completely out of the woods yet but she is getting better everyday with Speech Therapy and is now in pre-school and is as active as a normal girl would be in her age.  They are very much involved with BC Children's Hospital's fund raising programs that helped Carlee and other children in Vancouver.

Carlee is a fighter, and I think she got it from her mom.  But Lian's cancer is progressing and it developed resistance to chemotherapy pills.  It has metastasized to her liver, spine and right femur.  She did not qualify for immunotherapy.  

There is a chemotherapy drug that they will try after radiation therapy but the prognosis is poor.  There is another chemotherapy drug with better prognosis in prolonging her life but is NOT covered by medical service plan of British Columbia.

I am asking for your financial help for my beautiful friend.  I am also asking for PRAYERS, PRAYERS, PRAYERS.  Miracles happen every day.
