Liam’s Wishing Well

Donation protected
Welcome to Liam’s Wishing Well.
For some of you that don’t know my son, Liam, was born at 27 weeks and 6 days due to my water breaking at 24 weeks while I was pregnant with him. I stayed in the hospital for 4 very long weeks while Tyler (my husband & Liam’s Dad) took care of our daughter, worked, and made sure I was taken care of in the hospital.
On April 4th, 2022 Liam was born.

It was later found, once my c-section was over, I had hemorrhaged from a placental abruption due to my uterus being septic from my water breaking. Thankfully Liam was taken out in time as I was being tended to, if that hadn’t of happened the both of us would not be here today.

We have been very fortunate that we were blessed with a beautiful daughter and son. But we could have never imagined the challenge it would be bringing our son into the world and the daily challenges him and our family are having to come to terms with as our new “normal”. Liam has DiGoerge Syndrome (also known as 22.q.11 syndrome), torticollis caused by being in a hospital bed from the time he was born until 4mos of age, he has a biscupid septic valve, and a severe case of laryngomalacia. There are many other diagnoses Liam has that are caused by the diagnoses previously said. Liam has had many surgeries & procedures, some of which I can’t hardly pronounce, but without them would mean he would possibly still not be here with us. He will continue to have surgeries, procedures, and doctor appointments up until GI, ENT, Physical Therapy, Speech Therapy, Urology, the Feeding Team, Pulmonary, NICU follow up clinic, Cardiology, & Genetics feel as though he can live a normal life without medical intervention.

Because of Liam’s diagnoses and prematurity, he is on 3/4 of oxygen when sleeping and strictly Gtube. Liam had his gtube placement 01/31/23. He was strictly ng tube fed for 6-7 months of his life and has been strictly Gtube fed for almost 10mos with trials of food by mouth.

Liam goes to a medical daycare during the day. The daycare has helped us tremendously in finding a routine and especially supporting Liam’s medical needs. Anything will help from family, friends, and acquaintances as we navigate this change happening in our family. We are unsure of what lies ahead for our family, and for Liam, but we are so thankful for everyone who has continued to share kind words and pray for our Liam. We appreciate your support.
