Liam's Path from Homelessness to College

Donation protected
Hi, my name is Liam Speck, and I am seeking $2,500 to help pay for my education at Penn College of Technology. I need this money to cover the costs of my books and supplies, as well as my housing contract, which are due January 1, 2025. I completely understand if you are unable to donate, but please share and forward this message to as many people as you can. The more people who are aware of my situation, the more likely I am to receive the aid I need. Here's a bit of my back story and why I need this help:

In January 2024, at the age of 17, I was removed from my parents' home, leading to a period of homelessness where I had to become self-sufficient. Although I held a few small jobs, none were long-lasting. While still in high school, I relied on the hospitality of friends and girlfriends for shelter. Despite these challenges, I managed to maintain decent academic performance and graduated from high school. After graduation, I entered a group home, where I stayed for four weeks without working. The environment was difficult, and I ended up being withdrawn from the program due to a misunderstanding. With limited support from friends and family, I faced harsher conditions and sometimes had to sleep outdoors. Fortunately, I met someone who provided me with temporary housing for about two months. During this period, I struggled with mental health issues. I found employment and worked full-time for about three weeks before being dismissed in late October due to poor job performance, influenced by my mental health challenges. Consequently, the family I was staying with asked me to leave, citing a lack of motivation to improve my situation. Determined to change my life, I sought admission to a rehabilitation program, which I successfully found after two weeks of searching. I am now transitioning directly from rehab to Penn College. Currently, I am doing much better mentally, going to the gym, attending daily therapy, and working through my internal problems in a healthy manner. Once I start my education, I want to continue participating in therapy and doing the actions necessary to become the healthiest version of myself. I am determined to be successful and believe this is the first step.

Thank you for your time and please share this message.
