Our adventure.
Billy(Dad), Amanda(Mom), Charlotte 7(Big Sister), & Liam 3(Little Brother). We are the Dostals. I call it adventure because thats what it is. There will be happy, sad, angry, & challenging moments. Moments when we don't know what to do. Moments when we laugh & cry happy tears. And when we get to the end of this adventure, I know Liam will be standing tall with that smile on his face.
A few months ago our world came to a complete holt. Our son Liam was diagnosed with neuroblastoma cancer. We were complelety caught off guard and lost. This has happened very fast for us and we are still trying to figure things out.
Things we know...
It's CURABLE. It will be a long road (roughly 18 months) full of all kinds of treatments, medicines, & many many nights in the hospital. He is being treated by an amazing staff at UofM (C.S. Mott Childrens Hospital).
He will receive-
5 rounds of chemo
MIBG treatment
Surgeries
Radition
2 bone marrow transplants
Immunotherapy
We are OK. We have come to terms with it (as best we can) & know what we have to do. We will fight this all the way till he is cured. We have a great social group that we are thankful for. So many people have stepped in to help & care for us.
A little about Liam. We call him Liam the Destroyer. He loves building and organizing, but what he loves most is destroying whatever he built, or most times what his sister built! He is very active and extremly loving boy. He loves cars, trucks, animals, spider-man, super heros, & so much more.
I never thought I would have to write one of these. I'm not even comfortable doing so. But we know a lot of people want to help & this page will help us support Liam doing things he loves.
