Liam's Road to Recovery

Donation protected
Hello, I am the mother of Liam Lomaintewa, four year old, whom contracted Mis-C Multisystem Inflammatory Syndrome in Children. (which is not contagious) It is roughly when the antibodies start attacking his organs, skin, eyes etc because they think they look different. If left untreated, it can be fatal It is a very new illness and they are still learning the short term and long term affects. I did not want to create a GoFundMe.. it's not something we are used to.. We are a proud, hardworking young family of four. With that, our kids do not qualify for AHCCCS. However I found out since they are enrolled tribal members of the Kwatsaan tribe they qualify for Kids Care under Indian Health Services. Unfortunately, we applied for the insurance after the due date of the month and his paricular insurance will not cover anything until September. Liam is currently at the ICU of Phoenix Children's Hospital. We flew by helicopter to the hospital from Yuma, Az. We are thankful for anything that anyone is able to donate. We know eventually we can get through this financially with payments of some sort.. Our son's health is the most important, so we are beyond blessed and thankful for all the prayers and kind thoughts 07/22, Wednesday Liam woke up a fever of 102. It was controlled with Tylenol. 5:48 PM Liam got a fever of 104.1 I gave him Tylenol. I went into the room to answer my phone and came back to the living room with Liam having a seizure. The ambulance came and took him to the hospital with a fever of 106. We got discharged. Liam woke up in the middle of the night with fevers and vomiting. 07/23, Thursday Liam had constant fevers of 103 that only went down to 101 with baths and Tylenol/Motrin and he vommitted anything he took in. I called his primary care (Indian Health Clinic) and the YRMC careline to see if I should take him back into the ER they suggested that I wait until he has fevers of for 72 hours. 07/24, Friday Liam's fevers finally broke and went down to 98. One of his best friends, Alerie, brought him a little care package and he just completely believed in eating everything and that he was going to feel better. He longer had any vommitting. 07/25, Saturday Liam had purple / red swollen eyes. His eyeballs themselves were red as well. His fevers were back. We took Liam to the ER. He got in a room pretty quickly and we seen a doctor that I've seen before. He has a very upbeat attitude and always diagnoses Liam quickly. Once he seen him and heard the history of the possible Covid exposure ( I tested positive June 8th) , he already knew what it was. He took blood tests. Liam tested negative for currently having Covid, positive for antibodies, and his inflammatory test came back at 151 (normal is 5). Liam was diagnosed with Mis-C We were flown out to Phoenix Children's Hospital. 1AM Liam got retested for Covid, antibodies, inflammation, and many others.  Everything came back the same. Liam is still having fevers. His heart is skipping every third beat at the moment. He is on Immunoglobulin IV, steroids, blood pressure medication, oxygen, plus more. He has a central line, which allows him to get all of these different medications and treatments. He has a arterial line that keeps an accurate reading of his blood pressure.. He is getting better. He is very homesick. He misses his Emma and his own bed. He is tired of telling people his stuffy is Deadpool and not Spiderman. Andrew and I are switching out from the car and hospital to be with Liam here in PHX because only one parent is allowed to be in at a time. We are told that we will be here for at least a week. Liam never showed signs of Covid when I had it. He finally was allowed to eat today. We super appreciate all of the kind words and prayers for our little man
