Liam Scott Brain Surgery Shunt Replacement Fund

Donation protected
Liam was diagnosed with a left brain stoke in utero while his Mom (Kate) was 32 weeks pregnant with him.  In early November of 2019 they had discovered thru a routine ultrasound that his head was measuring larger than it should.  An appointment was scheduled in Missoula for a Fetal MRI.  The MRI showed that Liam had suffered a stroke and the outcome was unknown to his development & quality of life.  It was a long month till they decided his head was getting too large for delivery & he came into the world on Dec. 9th!  He looked healthy but had an enlarged head due to the water build up.  The neorologist decided to give it time to see if the enlarged ventrical would drain on it's own.  It did not and his head continued to grow larger.  Liam went into surgery to have a shunt install at 3 wks age.  All has gone pretty good since, he's growing and learning but behind in using his right side due to the stroke. He's in physical & occupational therapies weekly to help with his development.  Liam is now 10 months old and a beautiful, funny little man.  He has a sister (Abbi) who is 7 years old and absolutely adores her little brother.  His father (Stephen) works for Mercy Flight as a dispatcher, and Mom (Katelyn) works for Centene - a medical billing company.

Last week we took a trip to Kalispell to have his first MRI since the surgery.  We did not get the news that we thought we would.  It turns out the shunt is working too well.  The ventrical has now become a slit ventrical because the shunt is drain too much fluid from his brain.  It's caused a bleed near his skull wall due to the shrinking brain.   It's looking like Litte Liam will need another surgery to install different shunt.  All of this has caused a great financial strain on his family. I had a big fundraiser planned for last March and we all know how that went...ugh!  This young family has done their absolute best to weather this storm in their lives but it's gotten to be too much. I'm asking for help for them as I am this little miracles Grandmother and I love him & them so very much!!! Any help would be greatly appreciated, Thank You!
