Meet Liam — our “baby brother,” an 8th grader who is pure sunshine. He’s the kid who is everybody's best friend, always happy, laughing, always moving—soccer, riding his bike, running around outside, video games, and even piano and cello. Liam brings energy and kindness everywhere he goes, and he makes people feel better just by being himself.

On Friday, February 27, our family’s life changed in an instant when our little brother was hit by a car in our neighborhood in Lakewood Ranch, Florida. He is currently admitted to a pediatric children’s hospital and remains under the care of a multidisciplinary top surgical team. Update(Liam is home now after 7 days in hospital) His injuries are severe and complex, and doctors anticipate he likely will need multiple staged surgeries over time, with additional reconstructive procedures in future years as he grows.

What happened and why this is so serious He sustained a comminuted patellar fracture, meaning his kneecap and part of his femur were shattered into multiple pieces, requiring complex surgical reconstruction. He also suffered extensive trauma to his ankle, including significant injury to cartilage, supporting ligaments, and bone. His initial surgery required prolonged operative time (5 hours) for careful cleaning of damaged tissue, realignment, stabilization, and repair. Because of the seriousness of the damage and the repairs that were performed, he is currently not allowed to bend his knee to protect healing. At this stage he is non–weight-bearing on both legs and cannot walk, stand, or move independently. He also has a broken right hand (waiting on surgery and cast) His recovery will involve prolonged immobilization followed by intensive rehabilitation and physical therapy aimed at restoring range of motion, strength, and mobility. We are profoundly grateful his life was spared. But the path ahead is long, painful, and uncertain—and it will take time, repeated procedures, and extensive therapy for him to regain independence and function.

How funds will be used:

The medical and recovery-related expenses are already significant, and the need will continue for months and years. Donations will help with:
 • Hospital care, imaging, and surgical expenses
 • Follow-up orthopedic care and specialist visits
 • Future surgeries and potential reconstruction
 • Physical therapy and rehabilitation
 • Medical equipment and mobility support (assistive devices)
 • Transportation and in-home caregiving-related costs during recovery.

Estimated cost of care is still unknown.

Severe pediatric orthopedic injuries like this can lead to extensive costs over time due to multiple surgeries, rehabilitation, and growth-related adjustments.

• Short-term (first few months): emergency care, complex surgeries, hospitalization, medications, early therapy Estimated: $150,000 – (first 1–2 years): additional reconstructive surgeries, follow-ups, imaging, extended outpatient therapy, Estimated: $300,000 – $750,000+

 • Long-term (future years): growth-related procedures, hardware revision/removal, cartilage/joint stabilization, long-term orthopedic care Estimated: $500,000 – $1,000,000+ (over time)

Our priority is ensuring he has the best chance to heal properly and regain his life. If you can donate, any amount helps. If you are unable to donate, please consider sharing this fundraiser and keeping him in your thoughts and prayers.

Thank you for supporting our family during this unimaginable time. With love & gratitude, Our Family. God Bless!
