12/11/2024 - After five months of remission, LJ’s leukemia has unfortunately returned. He is currently undergoing intense chemotherapy. Once his levels are within the appropriate range, he will then be transferred to a larger hospital to receive a bone marrow transplant from his 4 year old sister, Harper.

This relapse has brought all the emotions, stress, and strain of LJ’s initial diagnosis back to the surface and daily life for Cody, Maddie, and Harper. The road back to normalcy will be difficult, but this family is strong, full of love and ready to fight and beat cancer once again!

Liam was recently diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia. Additionally, he has a specific mutation (KMT2A) that will put him at further risk for treatment and relapse. In the coming months, LJ will need tests, surgeries, targeted chemotherapy, and a bone marrow transplant. Due to his young age, he will need to be transferred to another hospital for his transplant.

The Rivers family has a long road ahead with LJ's medical expenses, travel to and from hospitals, and other day to day costs along with maintaining a sense of normalcy for their 3 year old daughter, Harper.
