Help Us Honour Liam’s Legacy at the 2nd Annual Liam Canning Charity Cup
On Sunday 14th June 2026, family, friends, teammates and supporters will come together at Colne and Nelson Rugby Club for the 2nd Annual Liam Canning Charity Cup, held in memory of my husband Liam, celebrating what would have been his 36th birthday.
Liam was larger than life — fiercely loyal, full of energy, and the kind of person who brought people together. Rugby was in his blood, community was at his heart, and “send it” was more than a phrase to him — it was how he lived. Fearless, wholehearted, and always all in.
The number 6 was Liam’s lucky number, and in his honour, we’re carrying that spirit forward.
This annual charity event is about so much more than sport. It’s about preserving Liam’s legacy through a day that reflects everything he loved: rugby, football, laughter, music, family, friendship, and community.
The day will include:
Charity Rugby Cup Game
⚽ Charity Football Cup Game
Family fun day with face painting, bouncy castle, ice cream van, BBQ and live music
❤️ Raising vital funds for LooseHeadz and We Evolve Project, two organisations supporting mental health, wellbeing and tackling stigma
These causes matter deeply. Through this event, we hope to turn grief into something meaningful — creating connection, starting conversations, and helping others who may be struggling.
As a widow raising Liam’s child, keeping his memory alive in a way our son can one day understand means everything to me. I want him to know the incredible man his dad was, and to see how many people continue to show up in Liam’s name.
If you can donate — no matter how small — you will be helping us honour Liam’s legacy and support causes that save lives.
If you can’t donate, sharing this page would mean just as much.
Thank you for helping us send it for Liam.
In Liam’s honour. For mental health. For community. For legacy.
