Liam Boyle Memorial Old Firm & Fundraiser We've created this page to raise funds for Ysortit to support the intandem project which supports children & young people who are care experienced. Liam was 23 years old, he was a son, a brother, a nephew, a grandson, a cousin and a friend. Liam was loved beyond measure by all who encountered him, he had an infectious personality and the ability to light up a room with his laugh. Liam sadly took his own life on the 17th April 2024 and has left a huge hole in the heart of all who knew him. We're taking this opportunity to raise funds to support children and young people who are care experienced to reach their full potential. The intandem service is run by Y Sort It in West Dunbartonshire. Y Sort It is a youth project which provides a number of services in response to the needs of the young people in the community. We also have ‘Buddy Up’, our highly successful peer mentoring service for young people who have had experience of being in care. intandem is our mentoring service for children 8-14 years old who are looked after at home. Mentors need to be over 18 years old and have an enthusiasm to spend several hours per week with a child looked after at home in West Dunbartonshire. Each mentor will receive 20 hours of training which will include topics such as child development, boundaries, confidentiality and child protection, as well as input being provided for the training from local partners from other agencies. Once matched with a young person, volunteers will be supported within their role and training will be ongoing.
