Liam Boor Medical Expenses
Donation protected
On Thursday, March 3, Cindy and Billy Boor experienced every parent's fear - a call in the middle of the night telling them their son Liam, away at University of Tennessee, had been critically injured and needed surgery. After a torturous 8-hour drive to UT Medical Center, the Boors learned Liam had suffered an accidental fall - fracturing his pelvis as well as breaking his hip, wrist, jaw, and multiple ribs and teeth. He has undergone three surgeries in three days where doctors placed four plates in his hip and a steel rod in his leg, as well as plates in his jaw.
There will be extensive recovery, therapy and likely more surgeries - not to mention the cost of transporting him back to Illinois. In just the first days, the medical costs are in the 100s of thousands of dollars. While they are hoping insurance will cover a good portion, there will be a substantial amount they will need to pay.
As their friends, neighbors and community members, we are reaching out to you for any support you may be able to provide. This is an incredibly scary and emotional time, one made even harder by the looming medical costs and logistics.
To know Liam and the Boors are to know people with huge hearts, always there for their friends and family. Now is our opportunity to be there for them.
