Funeral services for our dad
Donation protected
As most of you know, Olga and Howard’s father, Lindell Howard Cooksey, passed away yesterday, February 3rd, 2015.
He has been sick for some time, as he was diagnosed with an advanced stage of multiple myeloma about a year ago. Soon after his diagnosis, his kidneys lost the ability to function on their own and dialysis became a big part of his life. His health has quickly deteriorated over the past 6 months. On February 2nd, Olga received a call that he had a suffered from a fall, causing a subdural hematoma and was in the hospital on life support. That night, doctors removed him from life support and said he would go immediately. But he held on. Olga and Howard made the decision to fly out to California from Denver, CO on February 3rd, hoping to see him one last time before he left this world. They arrived at the hospital, only to be told that he was gone… they missed him by ten minutes.
Their father has no assets or preplanned arrangements and as the surviving children, ultimately Olga and Howard are responsible for any and all funeral expenses. As a student, Olga has no means to afford to pay for any services. We recently found out that their father’s wish was to be buried in the small town of Olivehurst, CA.
I humbly ask for any help so that Olga and Howard can honor these wishes and have a proper burial for their father. No donation is too small.
I will be posting updates on this site as I get them. Olga and Howard will have full access to this site and will be able to see any messages you may have for them and their family. Please feel free to send a private message if you have any questions and I will do my best to get them answered in a timely fashion.
Thank you,
Christy
