Funeral Arrangements - Reggy's Dad
Donation protected
Gentlemen and Gentlewomen:
I am before you to make an appeal on behalf of an uncle-like figure -Reginald Baskerville - the long time day shift security guard at St. Benedict’s Preparatory School in Newark New Jersey. Reggy lost his best friend and father (Melvin Baskerville) last Friday (1/30/15). In the modern era, it is not often that you learn that a man refers to his father as best friend and a great father, regrettably. Reggy did refer to his father by those terms.
I have not had the experience of losing a parent; however, I am sober enough to know that the day will come when I, too, have to face the reality of their passing. Because I have not lost a parent, I do know how Reggy feels. However, I do know he hurts mightily. I also know that his pain is exacerbated by the fact that he his financially constrained and needs support to respectfully honor his father’s memory and death.
Reggy called me last night to ask for financial help. He needs $6,500 to fill the financial gap necessary to honor his father’s death, to execute his dad's funeral. Cutting the check is easy; however, a showing of an out pour of love and support from SBP guys and those who are close to us will do very well to show Reggy how loved, honored, and respected he is by us.
The funeral is this Friday (2/6/15). The full amount of funds must be ready to be presented on that day. Will you join me in supporting Reggy?
