LGT Vestra’s Hike or Bike challenge for The Fore
At the end of September, a group of LGT Vestra employees have taken on the ‘Hike or Bike’ challenge to help raise funds and awareness for our Charity Partner, The Fore.
The Fore are a seed funder for the non-profit sector, helping small charities gain access to funding. Employees will choose between the hike or bike challenge, both of which have been designed to be a test of physical endurance, all in the name of charity.
The bikers will begin their journey on 30th September, travelling the 240km stretch from our London office, to our office in Bristol. The cyclists will aim to complete the challenging ride within two days.
The hikers will be setting off on the 1st October from Putney Bridge, walking 26kms along the Thames Path to the finish line at Hampton Court.
We would be delighted if you are able to support our Hike or Bike team, to help raise important funds for The Fore. LGT Vestra will match every donation made, extending the reach of your generosity even further and ultimately helping even more small charities.
We are proud to support The Fore and their important work helping small charities thrive. The Fore focuses on small charities providing innovative solutions to social problems impacting local communities.
Did you know that 91% of funding is directed to big charities? The Fore have a comprehensive and successful process for allocating grants to small organisations and are well positioned to know where funding is needed to have the greatest impact. A recent study by The Venture Philanthropy Fund reported that the work of The Fore supports the argument that unrestricted funding creates greater impact. The Fore has proven that the charities they have previously provided grants and skill support, have a grant income growth rate six times higher than that of unsuccessful applicants. The report enhances the success of The Fore’s assessment process to be ‘ahead of the curve’ in identifying under supported charities with high potential.
