LGBT Youth Seeking Safety and Hope
Donation protected
I am 22 years old, living in Tunisia, and I feel trapped in a life that leaves me no space to breathe. As a young LGBT person in a country where it is not safe to be myself, I face harassment, judgment, and abuse every single day. I work more than 50 hours a week for less than $300 a month, yet no matter how hard I try, I can never save enough to change my situation. For more than two years I have dreamed of leaving to start a life where I can be free, study again, and live with dignity — but the obstacles of my passport, visa restrictions, and the high cost of travel have made it impossible. I have no family or support to turn to, and the weight of being alone in this has left me hopeless at times. Still, I don’t want to give up on life. I want to believe there is a future for me somewhere, and I am asking for help to make that possible.
My goal is to raise $2,500 to take the first step toward a new beginning. This would cover around $1,000 for a flight ticket to Brazil (one of the few places I can go visa-free) and about $1,500 for basic expenses at the start until I can stand on my own feet. Any support, no matter how small, would bring me closer to finally having the chance to live safely, openly, and with hope.
Closing message:
Thank you for taking the time to read my story. If you are able to help, please know that your support would not just fund a journey — it would give me the chance to finally live as my true self, free from fear.
