Jamaal's road to recovery

This is a story about a 39 y/o male who suffered a Spinal Cord Injury (cervical-4 burst fracture, cervical-5 fracture, an incomplete injury) in May of 2009. During his 10 years as a Paramedic (his injury was not career related), he helped so many people and changed the lives of many. He is a mentor to us all. Since his accident, he has worked extremely hard to get back his dream career, meanwhile, hoping to get into medical school in the next year or two.
To know Jamaal, is to love Jamaal. He would do anything for anyone. His strength is truly something to be admired. (I have been so blessed to watch his progress.) He has always been an inspiration to everyone who meets him.
In 8 years, He has recovered entire body feeling (pain detection, touch detection of all types all over and can feel temperature in certain areas from the chest down), movement in toes, legs shake and move slightly when he tries to move them, or flex his leg muscles (controlled not spasms), significant arm and wrist function, and can push with light outward force. With the assistance of electrical stimulation, he can slightly kick his legs out against gravity. He has made great improvements in the past 8 years due to local therapy and a month of aggressive therapy at Sci-Step
in Mason, Ohio, He would have loved the opportunity to go back, but sadly, they are no longer open. Project walk has had great success with quadriplegics so he would like to go for treatment there, but travel and treatment would be very costly.
As Jamaal's dear friend, I would like to ask for assistance with funding therapy cost, trip cost, transportation assistance, aid assistance while out of town at therapy, accommodations (all of his therapy is on an outpatient bases, so he will need to pay all accommodations) and home therapy equipment (Uppertone and vitaglyde). In addition he also has to maintain a costly Medicaid spend down ($1,100 / month), and monthly bills. He is on a SSI income and this can total more than $100,000. Anything would be so greatly appreciated.
Thank you so very much

Would absolutely love it if we could get Jamaal this wearable robot from Ekso Bionics. This would change his life. :)
