Hello again—
It is with great sadness and a heavy heart that I inform you all of Lezley’s passing. She died peacefully in her house with her sister Michele by her side, and her sweet kitties close by. Everything was exactly how she wished it to be.
Thank you all for your support, it is overwhelming. Please know your kind donations will be put towards her Celebration of Life service to be scheduled later.
While her life was cut short, her memory will live on in our hearts. She will be missed dearly.
Hello Friends & Family—
Asking for aid is not an easy task, but I’m doing it on behalf of my oldest and dearest friend, Lezley. Lezley is currently battling her second, and unfortunately final battle with cancer. She is only 49 years old. Ten years ago, she was diagnosed with HERS2+ Breast Cancer. During her first bout with this disease, she required the removal of eleven lymph nodes, intensive chemotherapy and radiation, and a double mastectomy. We all believed she had beat this terrible disease, but her cancer has now metastasized to her lung, liver, bones, and brain. She is currently in Stage 4 and has approximately 3-6 months of life left.
Lezley is a registered nurse in Florida. She put herself through nursing school, working nights all while taking classes and studying during the day. She spent eleven years of her career at the Veteran’s Hospital of Bay Pines. More recently she became a traveling nurse to provide in-home health care to patients throughout Pinellas County. After her mother suffered a debilitating stroke, she uprooted her life so she could care for her. She has devoted her life to helping others, and now she needs our help.
Through these obstacles, she stood up and fought but this time there is little to nothing that can be done medically. Her current condition does not allow her to work and as a result, she has lost her insurance and income. Her savings is gone, and her sister has been burdened with the cost of her care, treatment, and monthly expenses.
Her sister, Michele, has been by her side through it all, always willing to assist by putting her sister first. I have known both women for most of my life and they mean the world to me. Lezley has always been determined, strong and outspoken. Michele has always been compassionate, giving, and thoughtful. These sisters share a deep bond and have allowed me into their world.
To keep Lezley in her home so she can peacefully pass with her adored cats by her side and unburden Michele financially, I am requesting your help. Any amount of money will ensure her last days are in comfort. We will need approximately $2,000 per month to keep her in her home. I am hoping to raise $12,000 to help these sisters and my dear friends. Any help you can provide would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you for your consideration. For updates regarding her well-being, please reach out to me directly.
