Lexy's Relay for Life

Donation protected
On October 15th we found out that my partner Lexy was diagnosed with stage 2 breast cancer; Invasive Ductal Carcinoma. This came as a shock to our families/ support system, especially with Lexy being only 28 years old. We are still learning more about her diagnosis and treatment plan, but she will be undergoing her first surgery in early November and will be off work for 4-6 weeks. The rest of treatment has yet to be determined, but it will include chemotherapy and possibly radiation, as well as another surgery with 4-6 weeks of recovery.

During much of this time, Lexy will not be working and I will also be taking time off to care for her post-surgeries, as well as intermittent leave for chemotherapy appointments, etc. The emotional and financial burden of surviving breast cancer is a challenge at any stage of life, but at only 28 years old it somehow seems even more unfair that Lexy is going through this right now (only ~2% of breast cancer patients are under 30).

Lexy is, by nature, a very giving person – at work, in her community, and at home. It's our turn now, to be there for her.

A few examples of what the funds raised will be used for: Rent, other monthly bills, groceries, medical co-pays, etc.

Please also note that any funds collected that we do not end up needing to cover the costs outlined above will be donated to causes to help others who are battling cancer.

Your support and generosity is very much appreciated - no contribution is too small to make an impact.

More information/updates to come.
