My name is Stacy Edwards and my daughter, Lexi, 14, was unexpectedly diagnosed with cancer on Tuesday, Oct. 6. She is at Texas Children's Hospital in Houston where she is currently awaiting results of a PET scan and biopsies that will determine how advanced the cancer is and what her recovery will entail.
Doctors have said she is looking at a lengthy recovery that will involve chemotherapy at the very least. The cancer is in her lymph nodes. The doctors have told her she will lose her hair and the treatments will make her very sick.
Lexi and her three siblings - Mackenzie, Zane and Addison - are being homeschooled this year but attended Tarkington ISD schools previously. We are lifelong residents of Tarkington and members of Oak Shade Baptist Church.
Because of COVID-19, my husband has been unemployed since the end of March and we are losing our medical insurance. We've never been in a position to need help before, so this is challenging. We are committed to being with her as much as possible throughout her ordeal and could use any financial support you can provide.
