My little sister Lexi is vivacious, unendingly compassionate, and has a heart for children. She is bold and always speaks her mind, but will always make sure everyone is happy, no matter what. She has always been strong, but her medical battle has required her to be stronger.

In August 2020, she was admitted to the hospital. She had multiple infections, pneumonia, and a valve in her heart was unusable causing shortness of breath and chest pains. During a long, two month battle in the hospital, she almost passed away three times as the doctors and nurses raced to tackle the most pressing issues.

She is getting better every day and my mother and I are so grateful! But the battle isn't over yet, as she does need open heart surgery. Currently, my sister is staying with my father and his family in Florida, and my mother and I live in Pennsylvania. My mother is a disabled, legally blind woman who raised my sister and I on her own for over half of our lives growing up.

I created this fund to assist my mother with the cost it will take for us to travel to Florida and be with my sister through her surgery and throughout her recovery. The funds we raise will go toward airfare to get there, hotel stays, food, and gas money.
