Lexi Bullis Snowboard Fundraiser

I am Lexi Bullis, a professional snowboarder competing for the U.S. Snowboard Racing Team. I am raising funds for the upcoming 2022-23 Snowboard Season.

I recently graduated from the University of Colorado, Colorado Springs with a bachelors degree in Biomedical Sciences. Now that I am out of school, I have decided to focus on my startup business and my professional snowboarding career. I don't ride like Shawn White; the Alpine racing is Slalom and Giant Slolam racing for snowboarders. My ultimate goal is to qualify for the 2026 Winter Olympics.

Last season, I raced well enough to earn a personal World Cup spot for every parallel event this season. I will be competing in 12 North American races as well as 10-12 World Cup races that are in Europe. I will be traveling between the U.S., Canada and Europe all winter, from November to March. Between the coaching, travel expenses (i.e. airfare, rental car, lodging, etc.), equipment and entry fees, it will cost me over $35,000 to compete this year.

As a U.S. athlete, we get little funding at the highest levels of competition. While the U.S. Snowboard Racing Team promotes the Alpine Snowboard athletes, it is not like the teams that we compete against from other nations that are fully funded for all travel, training, living, coaching and equipment. While some of my equipment is provided by sponsors, the rest of my expenses are out of my pocket.

Three years ago, I started my own funding-raising endeavor and founded Alpine Soap Company (www.alpinesoapcompany.com) to fund my snowboarding career. I am so proud of how much my business has grown, though the money that I am able to earn when I am not racing is short of what I will need to compete and travel this season.

It's been easier for me to work at growing my business, and harder for me to ask for financial help from my community. Competing at the World Cup level is the next step towards the Olympics in 2026. I am asking for the community's help to give me a chance at making this dream a reality!
