One of the most important things to Dad was his ability to remain independent and living in his home for as long as possible. Something he managed incredibly to achieve, despite his failing sight right up until he was 95.
At times, with Ash and I living so far away, this was really difficult and we are forever indebted to the support of Lesley and Amanda for their support. However as his needs increased, especially after a couple of bouts of ill health he needed more support and as much as he rallied against it the support we got through Estuary League of Friends was amazing and got us through some difficult times.
The charity offers all sorts of support both at its hub but also in individual’s own home, be it checking in on an individual, helping them with shopping or food preparation, to sitting and having a chat.
Providing support for the person but also the peace of mind for us as a family that someone was there for your loved one.
Therefore we are suggesting that if you had been thinking of sending flowers please instead consider donating to Estuary League of Friends using this page
with love and thanks Ashley and Rachel
