Lewis Hampton Washington, Jr. passed away on September 3, 2021 in the presence of his beloved family. Lewis' great laugh, booming voice, legendary hugs and enchanting singing will be held in sacred memory by all who experienced his presence. His deep faith, humor and spirit live on in everyone who knew him.
For those who want to help wife Debbie with all end of life medical, funeral, and other expenses, Lewis' friends have set up this GoFundMe page. God knows that with all of the “friends” and adopted family of Lewis, many will want to help her out. Thank you!
There will be a memorial service for family only (due to Covid) on Wednesday, September 8 at Jeffersontown Christian Church at 7:00 PM. (EST) The service will be livestreamed, and can be accessed on the Jeffersontown Christian Church website at:
http://www.jeffersontownchristian.org or their Facebook page.
We would love to know where you knew Lewis from in your comments. We know he made friends everywhere. One notable sighting of Lewis for thousands was when he sang in the St. Paul United Methodist Boar’s Head Festival as one of the Wise Men every year for many years. He also sang in the Bardstown, Kentucky Stephen Foster Story. Please share where you saw Lewis!
