Many of us in Colony Woods are fortunate to have Lewis Dailey as our "yard man." If you know Lewis, you know "who" he is : hard-working, dependable, reliable, "good folks," as we say around here :)
Last week on his way home going North on I-85, in the middle lane, he was rear-ended by a Jeep who never decreased its speed.
Lewis' truck spun numerous times, his tools/equipment were all over the highway; he had to crawl out a window to get out. A good witness chased the Jeep and got the license plate information.
Lewis is not physically injured! However, he had the minimal insurance on his truck. It does not cover a rental vehicle while his truck is inoperable. (It will probably be declared "totaled.") As you probably know, because of COVID, rental car agencies had sold off a lot of their inventory in order to keep their doors open. Now, they are having trouble building up their fleets because of parts shortage. So rentals are extremely hard to find and very expensive.
Lewis is currently using a U-Haul van. And he is having to buy new tools/equipment. (He was able to salvage some.)
We are hoping those of us who can, will show our appreciation to Lewis for his many years of service.
