Lewin's Sickle Cell Anemia Bone Marrow Transplant
Donation protected
Nuibim Lewin is my brother; he is 20 years old. He is intelligent smart, and fun to be around. Despite his health situation, he still finds the will to be jovial and happy - I admire him for that so much.
Lewin was diagnosed at birth with Sickle Cell Anemia Type SS, the most severe type of sickle cell. Sickle Cell Anemia is an inherited genetic disease of the blood that affects the shape of red blood cells, causes excruciating pain and damage to the body’s organs, affects the quality of an individual’s life (including shorter life span expectancy), and requires ongoing medical care. Lewin was hospitalized every week for the first 4 months of 2021 though less frequently this year. The only cure for sickle cell anemia is a Bone Marrow Transplant which I can't afford.
We are looking for funds to get a bone marrow transplant that would cure him, and bilateral hip replacement surgery that has resulted as a complication from the disease. That would give him a different outlook on life, the one most of us have, A life without frequent excruciating pain.
Here in Cameroon, the budget for a bone marrow transplant is too much for me to raise. I have decided to set up this GoFundMe to raise the money. I am more than grateful for any help given during this time. No donation is too small. Thank you in advance. #sicklecell #gofundme #bonemarrowtransplant #donate
