As some of you may know, my baby cousin Levi was in a devastating car accident last night around 8:30pm. He went off steep embankment and sustained multiple injuries as he was pinned between 2 trees for 3 hours while rescue teams tried to get him out. Although we are praising the good Lord that he’s alive, the fight is not over. He's been moved to icu. The Neuro resident saw him and he doesn't respond but he's so sedated from the traction that was placed on his femur to hold it in place until he can go to the OR around 1:30 if neuro clears him for surgery. He has a few brain bleeds but they aren't causing pressure and some skull fractures that at the moment aren't causing increased pressure. He has a broken shoulder and Is on the vent. They'll back off some sedation later today to see if he will follow commands then. They're still doing more scans on his head watching the bleeds closely. Although they do have medical insurance that helps, this is going to be a hefty financial hit for their family with medical bills and missing work until their boy is home.
