Levi’s Hip Surgery

Owning/raising a dog in your 20’s when you’re still growing yourself and finding out who you are is an unexplainable experience but in the best way possible! Levi has been my companion since the moment I brought him home. He is always by my side… no matter how big he got, he somehow always managed to make his way onto my lap. When he was around 6months old I began to notice some differences in the way he walked. He always hopped when he ran instead of using both legs individually. He would pivot on his left leg instead using his left leg to turn so thats when I decided to take him to the vet. They took X-rays of his legs just to be told “nothing” was wrong. Now he is almost two years old and unable to get up on his own or go up the stairs at night. On his good days, I take him on long walks or to the beach so that he can have some fun but later on I see the pain he is in after 30min. I just knew there had to be something wrong so I took him to a different doctor. Levi was then diagnosed with hip dysplasia. He has severe arthritis in his left hip that needs to be fixed with surgery or he will get worse, decreasing his lifespan. He will need two surgeries in his lifetime for his hip dysplasia because it is in both hips but the main focus is on his left hip for right now. Being in my 20’s working part-time, I just cannot afford a hip replacement surgery. Luckily, Levi is only 37lbs so he qualified for the less expensive surgery of $3,000. Its taken me a while to gain the courage to ask for help as I have asked for it in the past for his sister but the last thing I would want is for Levi to live in pain for any longer. My dogs are my world. I would be so grateful for any amount given.
