Meet my brave cousin, Levi McKinley.

Levi was born with a rare RYR1 gene mutation, along with central cord disease, kyphoscoliosis, and malignant hypothermia. These conditions have caused severe muscle weakness and a dangerous curve in his spine that is now affecting his ability to breathe. He is on oxygen 24/7 and depends on a G-tube for nutrition. Levi has faced frequent hospital stays, multiple procedures, and has already undergone surgery and general anesthesia several times.

Despite everything, Levi continues to fight every single day with a strength that inspires everyone around him.

On April 14th, Levi will undergo a major procedure called halo traction surgery to begin correcting his spine. This involves placing a metal ring around his head with small pins, which will slowly help straighten his spine over time. He is expected to remain in the hospital for at least four weeks—and may even return home with the device still in place.

This is only the beginning. Levi will need additional surgeries in the future, including spinal rods, procedures on both of his knees and ankles.

Levi is surrounded by a loving family—his mom Cynthia, dad Chris, and sister Finnley. Cynthia has had to step away from work to be his full-time caregiver, while Chris works to support the family on a single income. With only one vehicle and constant medical needs, the day-to-day challenges continue to grow.

We are asking for help to ease the financial stress during this incredibly difficult time. Donations will go toward medical expenses, lost income, transportation, groceries, and basic living costs while Levi receives the care he needs.
