Levi's Fight: A Mother's Plea for Support

My name is Korina. I am organizing this for my cousin. Her name is Robin Savage. She posted this tonight on her Facebook. Her son Levi is not doing well and is currently admitted to Devos Children’s Hospital. Levi has been sedated and placed on a ventilator, which is a mother’s worst fear. Robin could really use some help financially with her not being able to work and also being 7 months pregnant with another child! Please read below the status of Levi and please consider donating! Anything helps. She needs help with food, a hotel room for a few days (Ronald McDonald House is full), and just basic necessities. She does not have a vehicle with her and has zero money left. I never thought in a million years I would be writing this here on Facebook. So bear with me as I try to put everything in words.

On March 4th, Levi was in Gerber in Fremont Emergency Department. He was having a hard time breathing, his oxygen was dropping. He was transferred to Devos Children’s Hospital in Grand Rapids that evening.

He has been here ever since. RSV and pneumonia he has. Today he was placed in a medically induced coma to try to help him fight this. He also has an NG tube in place so he can still get his formula. He is a fighter, but he's so very weak. No mother wants to see their child like this.

As some know, I have been up here with him every day and night. But unfortunately, I too was admitted for a few days last week. After I was discharged, I have been by Levi the whole time.

Exhausted, stressed, and beyond worried is making it so the doctors are concerned for myself and the baby boy who is due in May.

They are requesting I get a room at night so I can try (I say try because I will be worried the whole time, but I know I need to rest for concerns of the baby too). However, all the rooms at the Ronald McDonald House are taken, the hospital is beyond packed with kids who need treatment.

I hate to ask but

1st please say prayers for Levi; he needs them.

if you can help with a night stay at a hotel within walking distance, it would be amazing and so very much appreciated, I promise.

if you can do anything to help, it would be greatly appreciated.

The hospital has been great, but they can only do what they can. I understand the reason they are requesting me to get a room. I need a shower and hopefully a few hours of good sleep. That way, I can be more focused and alert for Levi.
